Watermelon seed butter may not be the most popular seed butter yet, but we are starting to see more of it and discover it´s nutritional benefits.

Seeds are a nutrient dense food so just by adding a little bit to your diet they can contribute to a wide range of potential health benefits. They are naturally cholesterol free, gluten free, and are a low glycemic-index food.

Watermelon seed butter is a great source of plant-protein, heart-healthy mono & polyunsaturated fats and many minerals. It can also be a great alternative for those to are allergic to certain nuts and seeds, as watermelon seeds are pretty allergy friendly.

The following nutrients are especially abundant in this seed butter.

Zinc:

Containing more than 20% of the recommended daily intake in just one serving making it an excellent source of this vital mineral.

Zinc is important to your body in many ways especially in immunity but it´s also critical for cell growth and division, wound healing, sleep, mood, your senses, eye and skin health, insulin regulation, and more.

Protein:

One serving (2 tablespoons) provides 8 g of protein, that´s more than almond butter and most nut & seed butters. The protein in watermelon seeds consists of several amino acids and has a good amount of the amino acid, arginine, which has been associated with several cardiovascular health benefits.

Magnesium:

One serving of this butter provides more than 30% of the recommended daily intake. This mineral participates in a wide range of vitally important physiological functions. Healthy magnesium levels are important for your blood pressure, heart health, bone health, and blood sugar levels.

Iron:

These seeds are a good source of this critical mineral, providing more than 10% in just one serving. Iron helps our cells stay oxygenated, it's required for the production of red blood cells and therefore prevents anemia.
