For chocolate lovers, start your morning satisfying your chocolate crazy taste buds with this healthy and nourishing recipe. Overnight oats are easy to prepare, perfect to make ahead of time, so when you wake up or need a snack, it’s there already waiting to be enjoyed in your fridge. This recipe is made with fresh almond butter and almond milk created in the NutraMilk for the perfect touch of creaminess and nutty flavor. Enjoy!
INGREDIENTS
For overnight oats
- 1 cup whole rolled oats (gluten free, if needed)
- 2 tbsp. chia seeds
- 2 tbsp. pure maple syrup
- 2 tbsp. almond butter made with the NutraMilk
- 2 heaping tbsp. plant-based chocolate protein powder (optional, see notes)
- 2 heaping tbsp. cocoa powder
- 1 1/2 cups unsweetened almond milk made with the NutraMilk
For almond milk & almond butter
- 2 cups (300g) almonds
- 6 cups (1.5 quarts) water
- 1/8 teaspoon Pink Himalayan salt (optional)
INSTRUCTIONS
- Start by making fresh almond butter & milk with the NutraMilk:
- Place almonds in the NutraMilk container.
- Press Butter cycle, set for 10 minutes or more until you get desired creamy butter consistency.
- Press Start.
- Take out half on the nut butter and set aside. Leave the rest for the milk.
- Add water and replace lid.
- Press Mix (do not change the default Mix time).
- Press Start.
- Press Dispense, open spigot and fill your container with almond milk.
- In a bowl combine the oats, chia seeds, maple syrup, almond butter, protein powder, cocoa powder, and almond milk. Mix well until well incorporated.
- Divide the mixture between two jars or a place in tupperware container.
- Place in the fridge and leave overnight, or 5 hours at a minimum.
- In the morning, before eating, warm in the microwave for 30 seconds then top with a drizzle of almond or peanut butter and fresh fruit of choice and dig in!
- *If you choose not to use protein powder: Omit the protein powder and add 1 heaping tablespoon of cocoa powder and 1 tablespoon of pure maple syrup to the recipe for the best flavor and texture.
