Feliz Cinco de Mayo! Celebrate with these delish margaritas- A twist on the classic strawberry margarita- made with fresh coconut milk made in the NutraMilk which adds flavor and creaminess- it´s like a cross between a piña colada and a margarita. Enjoy!
INGREDIENTS
Yields 4 cocktails
- 1 1/2 cups strawberries
- 1/2 cup Triple Sec
- 1/2 cup Tequila
- 1/2 cup Fresh lime juice
- 1/2 -1 cup coconut milk made with the NutraMilk
- 1 cup ice
- water
- Fresh strawberries and lime slices for garnish
- Shredded coconut and honey for the rim
For coconut milk from dehydrated coconut (yields 6 cups)
- 2 cups (160g) of unsweetened dried coconut
- 1 ½ quarts (6 cups) of water
INSTRUCTIONS
- First, start by making coconut milk from dehydrated coconut
- Place the unsweetened dried coconut in the NutraMilk container.
- Press Butter cycle, set for 1 minute.
- Press Start.
- Open the container lid and add 1 cup of water. Replace lid.
- Press Butter cycle, set for 1 minute.
- Press Start.
- Repeat this step for each cup of water, until you have used all 6 cups.
- Press Mix (do not change the default time)
- Press Dispense.
- Press Start and open spigot to fill your storage container. *you can use more or less water depending on how full-bodied you want the milk to be.
- Next, continue by preparing your glasses. Add the shredded coconut to a small plate. Rim each glass first with a bit of honey or the wedge of a lime; then dip the rim of the glass into the coconut to coat. Set aside.
- In the NutraMilk, add the coconut milk, triple sec, tequila, lime juice, ice, fresh strawberries and amount of water desired (depending on how strong you want your cocktails). Process until smooth.
- Pour into your prepared glasses. Garnish with a fresh strawberry or slice of lime or both. Enjoy!
