Enthusiast 8-Cup Drip Coffee Brewer with Glass Carafe – SCA Certified Home Brewer

We love the size, as we moved our brewer to a smaller space and didn’t have room for our 14 cup Cuisinart. And, it makes great coffee. The removable reservoir makes it easy to fill. Our complaints/wishes are:
- Seems like a with simple hole in lid you could leave the lid on the pot.
- We may not be SCA approved coffee drinkers, but we do like hot coffee, and like it over the course of a few hours in the morning. We would like a hotter, and longer-on hot plate.
- In keeping with the minimalist design, the pot seems delicate. A backup seems like a good idea, but I don't see them anywhere and Bonavita has no published idea as to when they'll be in stock.

Loving this coffee maker! Love the look, the simplicity, the blooming feature, and, most importantly, the resulting taste of the coffee. The “shower head” design allows for a more even distribution of hot water to the grounds, ultimately, allowing for better extraction of flavor from the coffee. It’s also very helpful that the shower head is removable for easy cleaning. Additionally, the removable water tank is possibly one of my favorite features as far as usability. In general, I feel every relevant part of the coffee maker is easy to remove and replace, it’s incredibly helpful.
Unfortunately, there are a few small things that bring the score down slightly for me, though, none of them critical. My unit came in a sealed box but it seemed as though it was either a previously open unit or storage/packaging was a bit messy. There was dust on certain parts and small scratch marks on others. It’s still in good condition but it was hard not to notice those when opening what should be a brand new unit.
Very minor and more likely user ignorance, but I felt the instructions aren’t exactly clear on the functionality of the ON button, which turns the unit on (obviously), but also turns on the hot plate. Seems obvious now, but it wasn’t exactly obvious from the start for me coming from a coffee maker that was “always on”. Not so much a negative mark, but a note: to prevent grounds from overflowing when making 8 cups (the maximum), a taller filter should be used, luckily the unit does include a few tall filters in the box. It did okay most times with a standard filter, but I did have one instance of coffee grounds overflow.

So, to be quite honest, I dabbled back and forth between this, The Mocomaster, and the Simply Good coffee machines. I watched YouTube videos over a few days and the one thing I kept noticing is that when reviewers would drink that first sip, they would say how good the taste was. So I pressed the gas and made the purchase! This machine makes one helluva cup of coffee. I’ve been running a Bunn Speed Brew at home and a Heat-n-Brew at work for nearly 10 years and this re-introduced me to what the coffee experience should be! I love the whole “Blooming” feature and the sleek l👀k of the machine. If I could change only one thing, it would be that the carafe glass handle could be a little thicker or at least present the option of buying a 2nd one just in case. I know there are pros & cons to the different carafe selections but the glass just makes the setup look classic! This is the machine to have.

i am liking is coffee maker. I read the reviews that the coffee wouldn't stay warm but I have a thermal pot so I just heat it with hot water then pour up the carafe of coffee so it stays fresh. It is very simple to use and makes a nice amount of coffee. I would buy again with the sale discount I had, good purchase.
